Who won the national spelling bee?
This year's National Spelling Bee champion hails from Spring Lake, N.J.. Thirteen-year-old Katharine "Kerry" Close, who placed seventh in last years competition, correctly spelled "ursprache" on Thursday, June 1, 2006 to win the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
