Jewish Labor and the Holocaust
In January 1985, New York University was given 850 boxes of the historical records from the Jewish Labor Committee. The collection included more than 3 million pages of documentation and 10,000 photographs, posters and graphics dating back to 1934.
Assembled by the library's archive staff, this exhibit presents a unique record of the American Jewish labor movement's anti-Nazi activity, support of underground resistance movements and aid to Holocaust survivors.
Its seven sections take visitors on a chronological journey from the origins of the Jewish Labor Committee through postwar reconstruction.
