Congratulations to the Wisconsin Electronic Reader

The Wisconsin Electronic Reader takes visitors on a fabulous trip through time, documenting anecdotes and milestones of Wisconsin history through stories, essays, letters, poems, biographies, journals and tidbits that date back to 1835. The site is well organized and beautifully illustrated with historic texts and photographs. Topics include "History of the University of Wisconsin," "How Wisconsin Women Won the Ballot," "Wisconsin Authors and Their Works" and "Early Lumbering on the Chippewa." A cooperative digital imaging project of the University of Wisconsin-Madison General Library System and the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, the site was created in celebration of the sesquicentennial of Wisconsin statehood.
