DeskRef highlights resources that answer reference questions frequently asked by patrons of public libraries. The site is managed by the Ramapo Catskill Library System, which serves public libraries in the Orange, Rockland, Sullivan and South Ulster counties of New York. "Most Hits" and "Top Rated" features track the utility of entries and eliminate weaker, less-used sites. Visitors are welcome to submit or revise entries, which are reviewed by librarians before posting. Current categories include biography, calendars, encyclopedias, government, household, literature, patents, postal, religion, sports and writing.
