You may not be a scholar of the Middle Ages, but a visit to the Online Reference Book for Medieval Studies (ORB) may make you wish you were. A continuing project of several univeristy scholars, the ORB is a one-stop Web shop for all things Medieval. You'll find online textbooks written by experienced medievalists and the ORB Encyclopedia, a chronological and geographical index of essays, bibliographies, images, documents, links, and other resources. The ORB's Reference Shelf features the best Medieval primary source sites and an indexed list of individidual sources covering everything from "Aesop's Fables" to the "Wedding of Sir Gawain." Users who aren't of a scholarly bent will still enjoy Medieval Studies for the Nonspecialist, which features Medieval-themed movies, fiction and popular personalities such as Joan of Arc and Thomas Beckett.
